Welcome to the history of my dead relatives.

The internet has become a great aid in locating genealogical information. My father's ancestor emigrated from England to New England in 1629. A great deal of information about Thomas Minor (1608 - 1690) and his descendants is available. My mother's parents immigrated to the Boston from Latvia in 1907 and 1911 and searching out their ancestors has been much more difficult. Below are links that I have found useful.

My paternal gggrandparents are:

Other paternal ancestors are:

My maternal history is largely unknown. It begins and ends with the immigration ( Latvians in America) of my grandparents from Riga, Latvia to Boston, MA in April 1907 and May 1911. Latvian genealogy on the net is still relatively undeveloped, but there is a forum and an overview of the Latvian State Archives which has an English site. Ancestry has a Latvian message board and also one for Riga inquiries There is also a short list of sites at FEEFHS, Genealogy.com's index, Cyndi's Baltic list, WorldGenWeb. The embassy can be interesting as is the Jewish SIG which has a RIGA page, the news, and Amara's page.
