1107. COVID "Fill in the Blanks"
This little series is based on another stamp (like the one we planted nearby for our hometown) that was left as a prize in some box that we had found somewhere once upon a time, but didn't know what to do with it. Well, once again the "stay-at-home" circumstances of COVID-19 provided an excuse to locally plant anything, so here goes!
From the parking lot on the north side of Buckeye Brook Trail, take the North-South trail north following the blue blazes. At the fork, continue straight just past the "rock art" cairn on the right and see a large 2-trunk tulip poplar on the right with a orange-tannish rock two feet in front of it. Under the back lip of that rock nearest the tree, find a 3-4 inch gray triangular stone with the base message glued onto its back.
Now for the fill-ins, continue several dozen feet to the next NST trail marker on a tree to the left. Sit on the long fallen tree (with "sea monster head") near that tree, and look under a small piece of bark on the tree's west side for a small round stone with the word to fill in the first blank.
Now cross over to the former parking area on the east side of the road and go to the 3-trunk tree on its east end. Under a light colored cubic rock chunk find a small dark trapezoidal stone with the second word attached.
Now go back the way you came to where you can just start to see the red gate of the parking lot ahead. You should see a slightly tilted orangish low boulder near a pine on the left. On its north side under a small speckled gray rock find a tiny tan stone with the last word.
