1141. Little Pumpkins Visit the Pumpkin People in NH
Jackson, NH
Just wanted to get these little pumpkins carved by spoiled rotten of OH out "into the wild" again for those who didn't get to visit them when they were in either RI or CT. This time they have gone to hang out for the Halloween season with the pumpkin people in Jackson, NH. This year of Covid may not have quite so many pumpkin people or elaborate tableaux arrangements for them as we remember from years past, but we were just glad to see a few pumpkin vignettes still being created by various local establishments for our seasonal enjoyment, and still felt it was worth the trip.
So, if any other letterboxers have a chance to get up that way this season to visit the pumpkin people and would like to find a couple of other pumpkin mementos to mark their trip, all they have to do is cross the stone bridge to the opposite side from the Wentworth and the old library. From the east end of the bridge, about 12 steps north is a stone bench overlooking the river. A dozen steps or so east from that bench, on the east side base of a three-trunk tree, is where we left a particular rectangular stone holding down a little black pouch containing the first of spoiled rotten's pumpkins. Please make sure to put back the pumpkin stone covering the pouch exactly as found!
Now for the second of spoiled rotten's pumpkins, just take another dozen or so steps northwest to a large rock by a two-trunk tree just before a dark lying rot log. Tucked there under the east side of the large rock beneath a small flat stone is where we left a larger black pouch with stamp and logbook. Please remember to replace this pouch carefully, too, and thanks for visiting!
1143. Bonus Pumpkin
Just another little sharp-nosed something you may come across if you are watchful while visiting the pumpkin people in Jackson, NH during October of 2020!
