1175. Pete's Mystery Love

This little letterbox was totally Pete's "surprise creation" for Valentine's Day 2021. Seems like it's been years since Pete has taken much actual interest in letterboxing, although he does still usually do the driving and the hiking involved (plus the occasional hard prying out of boxes frozen into deep snow;-). However, something about doing all those wonderful "Translations of Love" letterboxes on the snowy trails of eastern MA this past winter must have really appealed to him and sparked an interest because suddenly one cold mid-February day, out of the blue he asked me, of all things, if he could borrow my old carving tool!

"Sure, if you can find it, but be careful because the tip is broken", I said, wondering what he was up to. Shortly thereafter he presented me with a little yellow pill bottle containing his own "translation of love" - an eraser carving in "Dancing Men"! Seems all those other "love languages" we'd been finding recently had put him in mind of that old mystery he had first planted twenty years ago! So, naturally we had to go right out and plant it nearby, in the eastern guardrail curl closest to the trailhead parking for "Dancing Men". (Examining this carving just might help in figuring out how to get a clue for one of the other bonus mysteries that Pete had planted many years ago, too! ;-)
