With everything that has been going on this past year, we have been so grateful for everyone who has continued to plant letterboxes, especially during these cold snowy days as we all try to wait patiently for our covid shots to hopefully allow us to get through this terrible pandemic. Among the very nice collection of boxes being planted lately by letterboxers both new and old, we found the “spreading hearts, not covid” project to be a particularly “heart-warming” one, from the wonderful winter wonderland woodland walks in MA preserves by cigna cats to the snow-filled strolls and snow-banked “drive-bys” by RIclimber, Kat likes pie, connecticut croaker, reggicat and many others that have helped us get through even the very bitterest of cold winter days! Yes, even though our travels have been quite restricted lately, thanks to just recently managing to have a few sets of negative covid tests get back to us within the required 72 hours, we were delighted to be able to find not only all of the “love boxes” in RI and CT, but a good chunk of the ones in MA, too! We actually found a couple hundred of those sweet little “love boxes” by the end of February, almost all of them in the snow, and hopefully we can find many more in the months ahead as well!

So, in honor of all those “primo planters” and everyone else who planted boxes for us to find this winter, we would like to share our “Sweet Message of Love”! This was actually an old “message in a bottle” made for an early winter gathering in MA many years ago that I just happened to stumble upon again recently, but, since it sort of fits the “spreading hearts not covid” theme and I’m not likely to be carving anything else anytime soon, I would like to make it temporarily available to our wonderful local planters, perhaps for the upcoming Pi Day event at our local tri-state corner, or as a “yard box” or something. Just want you all to know how “sweet” we think you are for planting! Love, W&P
