1201. Ensenada Revisited
Ensenada, Mexico
15 Oct 2021
In October of 2021 we finally had a chance to revisit Ensenada on a Princess cruise to Mexico, with lots of memories from a past cruise taken in 2008, where we left a microbox at La Bufadora, attended Balet Folklorico at the Riviera del Pacifico and had margaritas at the place where they were supposedly first created.
Not quite so much going on this time around, but we did enjoy revisiting that historic casino building with its cool murals, old wooden ceilings and such, just a bit southeast from the cruise ship pier. Walking east behind Riviera del Pacifico you will find Jardin Historico de los Misiones de Baja California 1683-1833. Across the way is a triple arched chapel, wishing well, etc. From St Francis in his niche with 2 birds in is hands, just walk about two dozen steps further south and locate a small corner cactus garden with a devils bit plant. Look for the "travelin' light" stamp glued on the back of a dark gray semicircular stone under a 1.5 inch rhomboid tile fragment in the very corner by the curved reddish brown railing before taking steps down to more south side gardens and the famous "margarita" sign!
