Wanda and Pete's Letterboxes

1212. - 1213. Dos oruguitas y una mariposa
New London, CT
Since we have both been so taken with the new Disney movie "Encanto" lately, we decided to plant something vaguely related to it at one of the nearby CT spots we remembered from well into our early letterboxing years. In fact, this is the place that by default became our so-called "first find" date for AQ restriction-bypass listing purposes only, simply because, of all our many hundreds of earlier letterbox finds in the preceding years, none of our previous finds had any clues listed on AQ!!!
Anyway, to find this memorable spot, which at the last time we visited in mid April was simply flooded with bloodroots in full bloom, just make your way to the Conn College Arboretum and park on Williams St. across from the back entrance to the college. Head southwesterly past the F&A Gazebo to the E&A Wildflower Garden. Between the Japanese-style gates, find the stone block bench for SGS. From there take 40 steps south and look under the eastern lip of a small 2'X3' boulder for a yellow pill bottle with a stamp that you'd probably never guess is supposed to represent two caterpillars forming a flower basket cocoon tucked well into the leaves behind a non-moveable stone.
Now take the trail curving westerly about 20 steps, then another 20 steps forking down left between rocks. Look behind the western side of another small 2'X3' boulder for another yellow pill bottle with a butterfly to hopefully color vibrantly as you enjoy whatever wildflowers may now be in bloom!
