"Jewels of the Baltic": Kiel
6/17/23 stroll

1234. Kiel, Germany: Last of the old Hanseatic towns that we visited on what happened to be the first day of "Kieler Woche", supposedly the biggest annual sailing festival in the world! But first, before doing anything else, we hopped from the Ostseekai Cruiseport across the pedestrian bridge to the northeastern corner of the Schlossgarten, then just a bit further north to the side entrance of the Kunsthalle Art Museum with some outdoor sculptures nearby. In the very corner of the metal brace under the right foot of the one called "Manden" (Der Mann) by Bjorn Norgaard of Kobenhavn is where we left our last "travelin' ligh"t of the trip - a tiny dark gray stone with Kiel on back!
