1257. Pine Barrens of RI - stroll - W&P

After finding some of mapsurfer's famous boxes in the Pine Barrens of NJ back in 2001/ 2002, we decided to celebrate our own local RI pine barrens with this fairly early stamp (our #23) planted in the northern part of Charlestown off of Burdickville Road. However, upgrading of the railroad line has blocked easy access to that property as Acela now speeds by quite close to that area! So, for now just find your way to our local Charlestown library and go to the far end of the lower parking lot where a nature trail enters the woods along the top of a glacial esker. Walk along about 200 steps, bearing right and passing a "hitching post" on your right, to a nice candelabra tree with a white pine sign at its base and a defunct bird house on the ground slightly right behind it. From the left side of that pine, just go southwest about 17 steps or so to a somewhat similar 3-trunk pine and gently search the pine needles on its back left side. Pete had also once planted a WoM box for our anniversary with a magic lamp stamp carved by RTRW in this same general area, but we never posted the clue and later lost it altogether, so it could still be kicking around there for all we know! Please let us know if anyone ever happens to stumble upon that old "light of my life " box again, too!
