1265. Wiener Wanderungen (Viennese Wanderings)

After several days of wandering around Vienna on another recent CentralEuropean trip, we were definitely getting the feeling that we weren't going to be able to find the kind of place to leave a "travelin' light letterbox' that we might have most liked. However, at the last moment we decided to take a chance with Mozart as your guide. After all, most anyone can find the Mozart statue right on the part of the Ringstrasse that is just south of the Hofburg Palace and just north of the Kunsthistorische Muzeum, diagonally across from the imposing MariaTheresie statue.

So, once standing there facing Mozart with the G-clef implanted in reddish vegetation amidst the greenery in front of you, simply turn right, and follow the sidewalk east about 120 steps or so, and then turn left off the sidewalk for another 18 to 20 steps to reach a multi-evergreen in a circle of similar trees surrounding a circular green vented structure. On the northeast side of that multi-evergreen, tucked under a pinecone and some needles between two very short skinny stumps is where we left this 1-inch round gray stone with its "Wien" carved pink rubber stamp on back. We left it also with a 3-inch chunk of bark covering its location, but even if the bark piece disappears, we hope the the small travelin' light stone might remain there as a memento for visiting Vienna!
