1273) Piraeus - Ancient Harbors stroll , planted Feb 26, 2026

Piraeus, just a few miles from Athens and easily seen looking out in a straight line west from the top of the Acropolis, has been an important seaport for millennia. To plant this charming little round magnet stamp carved by reggicat of MA, we chose a spot near where we stayed along the little round harbor in the Pasalimani section of Piraeus, only about half a mile or so from the huge main seaport itself. To get to it from bright blue domes of St. Nicholas Church along Akti Miaouli east of cruise terminal A, just go inland easterly up and over a small rise on Trikoupi St or any of the next few parallel streets to the north to reach the lovely round harbor of Pasalimani, full of smaller ships and maybe even one reminiscent of the ancient one depicted on reggicat's carving!

Once there, simply curve along the upper promenade sidewalk to reach the spot with Skoure St to the west and the gated dock with Zeas Marina written on it down below to the east. From this overlook, still on the sidewalk but nearer the street is a large metal utility box currently with red painted Piraeus graffiti on its north side. On the opposite side of this box, adjacent to the hedge, look near the bottom of the box, directly below the middle of the non-magnetic low ledge, to where we attached the magnet stamp vertically on the metal sidewall. Please make sure to replace the stamp the same way fully magnetized so it will "hold fast"!
