629. Feeling Lucky in Kentucky
Just a simple little KY travelin' light stamp for anyone wishing to make a quick stop
while passing through the LBL
The Land between the Lakes area of western Kentucky seems to have more than its
share of cemeteries. The one you want for this particular little outing is in
the northern part of a tri-cemetery grouping near a town originally called
"Fungo", now long "fun gone" after hundreds of people were displaced due to dam
construction and such. It is just north and east of the main east-west road in
an area that may remind you of the Fondas on Squam Lake. Once there, find the 4'
monument to John Forguson that has "Hope" with a bird on the wing etched on its
upper portion. 2' away in a crevice on the south side of a cedar rests a 1"
light gray triangle stone with a little KY stamp on its back.
