Drive-by at the big “Welcome to Alberta” Sign near Crows Nest Pass

Driving west on route 3 from BC to AB, just a bit east of the actual Crows Nest Pass Continental Divide, is large pullout on the south side of the highway with a sign for “Wild Rose Country”, near where another letterbox was once planted. Well, that one now seems to be gone, but if you look behind the right side of that welcome sign, tucked discreetly back in the very corner with a couple of other small stones, you just might still find this little light gray “travelin’ light”!
