736. Bear in Bear…Delaware!
Drive-by in the state park closest to Bear, DE

This stamp was carved quite a few years ago by RIClimber for our “Grills at Grills” series at the Grills Preserve in Hopkinton, RI, but now we have moved it down to some different grills in a state park near Bear, DE. How well do you know the road to this park? Have you been to Area 4 before? Can you locate the first picnic table and grill nearest the road there on the right? Can you see the prominent lettering for “HOT COALS” about 35 steps away? Once you go there, can you find a fairly large “Y” tree about 30 steps just into the tree/brush line to the west? Look behind it under wood for Bear Grylls!

P.S. We don’t usually like to leave boxes in areas that require fees, figuring that American-style letterboxing was originally set up mostly to be a free activity just to get people out and about on little adventure hunts, but you can enter this park for free at least from the beginning of December to the end of February!
