781. Coasting by Costa Rica
Quick find after visiting the Limon Cathedral with its marvelous stained glass windows

Puerto Limon on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica is known as one of the spots that Columbus stopped at on his fourth transatlantic voyage way back in 1502. These days it is considered more of a working class town and a jumping off spot for the nearby national parks. However, one can still catch sight of beautiful birds, butterflies and even a few sloths hanging out in the trees right near the cruise center, and the fairly new Limon Cathedral is only a few blocks away as well. Just head towards the tall yellow bell tower, then enter the large gray cement structure before it through the doors below the giant sculpture of Jesus. After viewing the colorful stained glass windows with the Apostles’ Creed written in Spanish below, exit towards the north side where the restrooms are located. This is to the right of the main entrance of the cathedral when first coming in, in a sort of alcove with a black metal fence immediately right of the side entrance. Count 6-7 vertical metal fence spikes east from the wall and notice the 5 round rocks on the other side of the fence. Reach through the fence to find the 2" flat triangular dark stone with stamp attached under a chuck of limestone and another small rock at the left side of the round rock closest to the fence.
