807. How many different cars does is take to make a North Carolina road trip?
Just a short lollipop loop for 9 stamps borrowed from RI Cilmber and temporarily planted while looping through NC!

To find where we temporarily planted these stamps borrowed from RI climber while looping briefly through NC, locate the place where Sherman and Johnston got together to sign the largest surrender of the Civil War. We had very little idea of the huge historic importance of this place until we watched the movie in the visitor center there, so we highly suggest going in to view that short film in the museum before touring the site (open Tuesday - Saturday, 9 - 5).

After exploring the historic area, head over to the west side of the parking lot past the picnic tables to pick up a short nature trail there. From the post with yellow arrow at the very beginning of the trail, just look in the leaves and needles behind the first large tree on the left for “Ford”.

Continue about 80 steps along the trail and look behind the stump on the left under a stick for “Hyundai”.

Now go about 60 more steps and look behind the short cut log with multi-shrub off trail on the right for “Kia”.

Continue about 25 steps to a bench and look under the branch behind the pine due south for “Nissan”.

Next continue 18 steps to the junction with the green trail, turn right and go 5 steps, then look behind the pine on the left for “Subaru”.

Proceed on the green trail about 65 steps to where the trail curves left. Straight ahead off trail here about 6 steps, find “Toyota” behind a large pine under a small “V” branch.

From the left curve in the trail, about 60 more steps should get you to a small tree leaning right over the trail from the left side. Look for “Tesla” behind the large pine on the left about 10 - 12 steps off trail.

Continue about 90 steps to the junction of green and blue trails. From the post there, go about 315*/ 8 steps and look under a stick behind a large pine for “Volkswagen”.

Now curve through a slightly muddy section about 95 steps back to the yellow/green junction. Turn right about 18 steps to the yellow/pink junction with familiar bench. Go about 17 steps west behind the bench and look under a branch behind the tree for “Honda”.

We forgot to leave a little logbook, so please add a little piece of paper with your sig stamp, so we can tell if anyone gets to visit here before we pick up these borrowed stamps on our loop back through NC next week. We don’t generally like to plant such “short-term boxes”, but we’ve been “taking lessons” lately from some folks up north and in other parts of the country on how to quickly get our plant count up past P1000 (with the “2-hour gathering” and such ;-), and then we’ll try to go back to the regular types of planting for the “long run”, where folks can visit any time at their leisure, which we know from personal experience we much prefer! Meanwhile, please feel free to add more temporary “car logos” and even “permanent plants” - you know we love ‘em!
