816. Bear Wallowing in NC (2)
Plant Date: February 22, 2019
Just a couple of "travelin' light poles" on the way to scenic hiking in North Carolina

1. Bearwallow Flag Pole

To find these two primitive stamps (which desperately need blue and gray ink) glued on the back of stones, make your way to the trailhead at the top of the gap between Gerton & Edneyville on Bearwallow Mountain Rd. On the right side of the right kiosk post of the "up-east" trail, we left a 3" gray oval stone sandwich between some other tan stones at the base of the small stone border. Please be sure to tuck the small tan stones back around the gray stone to keep it well hidden.

2. Bearwallow Trekking Pole

Now look on the right side of the "down-west" trail kiosk to where we left a similar gray oval stone under the smaller (6"x4") of two tannish triangular rocks very near the right wooden post. With these quick drive-bys now out of the way, please feel free to take a hike or two on these trails for some great views. We only had time for one hike here after our "First Day 2019" hike up Chimney Rock, so partly why we temporarily planted these particular "travelin' lights" was as an incentive to hopefully get ourselves back out this way for some more hiking sometime soon, too!
