820. Planting in Palermo
Nice little “lunch break” in the corner of a grand old 12th century Norman cathedral in Sicily

To find this little “travelin’ light” stamp, head southwest on Vittorio Emmanuelle from “Quattro Canti”, near the famous “Fountain of Shame”, to the magnificent Cattedrale di Palermo. Find the sign in three languages to the right of the large triple-arched entrance that describes how it was built in 1169 - 1185 from lava inlaid with Arabic motifs. Duck behind the sign to sit on a small ledge to the left tucked in a shady corner where we enjoyed finishing up some delicious Sicilian pastries while listening to a small band playing tarantella music in the large church courtyard. While sitting, notice to your left in the corner of the alcove two pipes descending vertically. About 6 inches below the curved end of the skinnier pipe, we left a 1-2” dark rectangular rock on a little ledge under another small curved protruding chunk of rock. Please replace carefully as found.
