822. Barging through Barcelona
Finally finding a home for this stamp near the Sardana statue on Montjuic in Barcelona

Took us five trips to Barcelona in the past two years to finally to get this little “travelin’ light” planted (not counting pre-letterboxing trips from years ago, of course!) We always seemed to be in to much of a hurry and every place we visited seemed to be too manicured. Finally this time, though, we found a spot with which we are somewhat happy near the statue of eight figures doing the Sardana, the national dance of Catalunya, which people get together to do every Sunday in front of the Barcelona Cathedral in Bari Gotic (not Sagrada Familia!) To find the spot where we left this stamp, however, go to the Sardana statue in the middle of Carretera de Montjuic, winding your way east up from the top of the funicular or north down from the Castell de Montjuic, which can be reached by the 150 bus or by walking on various trails. Once there at the statue, go just a bit north down the road to find a row of rocks heading east from a “bus only” bus stop with a small piece of sidewalk also heading east here. Go to between the 2nd and 3rd rock from the far east end, and, when no one is looking, hop over to the north side of the rock and remove a chunk of rock to find where we left a thin gray 1” stone with Barcelona on back, sandwiched in the corner sitting on another small stone.
