854. Wanda’s Wandering: Northville-Placid Trail Lake Placid, NY

Long overdue on getting this one planted, too. Kept meaning to get it planted on a different section of the Northville-Placid Trail, but never seemed to be getting out that way. Years went by, so we finally decided to just plant it at the easiest accessible spot.

So, to find this NP logo stamp carved by Lightnin’ Bug in its current location, just find the trailhead parking lot on the left side of Averyville Road 1.1 mile SW from Military Road heading out from Lake Placid. From the two large rocks guarding the trail entrance, take 25 steps to read the sign about the NPT. Then take 6 steps more on trail plus 3 steps right off-trail to find this micro box buried on the SE side of a fir tree.
