918. Grumpy Cat Snowflake
Charlestown, RI
Part of a mini flurry of snowflakes carved by connecticut croaker and chicktiechick, now sent over to spend a little time in southern RI before the snows really begin to fly! Please pay special attention to replacing as found each of these graciously loaned snowflakes to make sure that we can get them all back safely to CT in time for Christmas!
The first snowflake to fly in RI was "Grumpy Cat", which we planted in late October near the Charlestown Animal Shelter, where we once got our two lovely cats Choolie and Ondra that we had for nearly 20 years! To find this "cutie", follow signs to the Charlestown Animal Shelter from route 1 westbound, taking right turns on Narrow Lane, Old Coach Road and Sand Hill Road to its end. Once through the first metal gate, with CRCC on your right, U-turn before the second metal gate to park by the mailbox which at the time of planting sported a black "Happy Halloween" cat. From there go 13 steps at 30 degrees to find "Grumpy Cat" under the needles behind a large two-trunk pine!
