1324. TURNER MINER[7] was born on 2 Dec 1764 in New London, CT, son of Turner. He was baptized on 14 April 1765 at First Church of Christ in New London. He went to East Haddam, CT from New London, and on 18 Sep 1788 at the Millington Church in East Haddam (v2p178), he married Mary SPENCER, daughter of General Joseph Spencer and Hannah Brown. (Hannah was the widow of Capt. Daniel Southmayd.) They lived west of the Millington Green Cemetery with the house (still standing in 2006) north of the road and a 40 acre farm to the south separated from the cemetery by a brook. They had 11 children recorded in Millington, CT (East Haddam 2:178). She died on 30 July 1825.
He married second with Catherine SEYMOUR on 24 Nov 1829.
They were in Auburn, Cayuga Co, NY in 1830 and Skaneateles, Onondaga Co, NY in 1840.
He died on 7 Aug 1840 and was buried in Thorn Hill Cemetery, Spafford, NY.

2575. JARED SPENCER MINER[8] was born on 8 July 1789 in East Haddam, CT (v2p178),
son of Turner Miner. Baptized on 8 Nov 1795. He married Caroline BROCKWAY,
daughter of Ezra Brockway and Margaret Banning, on 11 February 1813 in East Haddam.
Caroline died on 2 January 1820, and was buried in Joshuatown Cemetery
in Haddam, CT.
Jared married second with Elenora Young SNOW, and they had a son, Jared S Miner.
Jared died on Nantucket Island, MA on 20 July 1827. Elenora married Edmund Cooper of
North Kingstown, RI, son of Gilbert, on 10 June 1829. They lived in North Kingstown where
she died on 28 October 1853 and was buried in the graveyard of the Old Baptist Church.

1820 census for Lyme, CT gives 100010-20010 for Jared which conflicts with the existence
of a second son, Charles, for whom I have found no information beyond the entry in
Sidney Miner's compilation10.

JARED S. MINER[9] was born on 3 March 1823? on Nantucket, MA,
son of Jared Spencer Miner. He married Sarah Sherman RATHBUN, daughter of Nathan Dawley Rathbun
and Martha Taylor Adams, in November or December 1851 in North Kingstown, RI.
She is a descendant of Thankful Miner.
He was farming in Exeter in 1860. He paid taxes from 1868 through 1877 in North Kingstown
where he was a laborer probably at the mills.
He died of consumption in Lafayette, RI on 9 November 1877, and she died on 17 May 1892.
Both are buried in Lot F of Elm Grove Cemetery in Allenton, RI.

JOSEPH EBENEZER MINER[10] was born on 30 June 1852 in North Kingstown, RI,
son of Jared S. Miner. He married Louisa Ann TUCKER, daughter of John Aldrick Tucker and Harriet Newell Pike,
on 9 December 1873 in North Kingstown, RI, and they had 4 children. He started life as a weaver in
North Kingstown (1870) and lived in Ashaway, RI by 1877. He became a railroad engineer for the New York,
New Haven, and Hartford railroad for over 40 years. They moved to Stonington, CT about 1878 and to
New London by 1900. He died in New London, CT on 30 June 1926, and she died there on 12 December 1951.
Both are buried in Jordan Mutual Cemetery in Waterford, CT along with their adult children and their wives.
